Emeric Lhuisset

Born 1983, Paris, France.

Currently lives between the Middle East and Paris.

After studying at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSB-A) with the support of Guillaume Paris, Christian Boltanski and Jean-Marc Bustamante, he carried out various interventions and exhibitions in France (Centquatre, Expace Electra, Salon d'art contemporain de Montrouge, Grand Palais FIAC, Slick, La Villette, Centre Pompidou...) and abroad (Andrea Meislin Gallery in NY, Solar de Beira in Brazil, Galleria do Palacio in Portugal, Shunt in London, PAN in Italy...).

In addition to his art practice, Lhuisset teaches at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and hosts a cycle of common conferences between Sciences Po and New York University NYU in Paris on "contemporary art and geopolitics".

Working around current affairs, just like a journalist, he approaches his artistic work with extensive investigation in the media as well as the zones concerned by the problems he is studying. As a result, he was with the FARC in Colombia (2006), Siberia in winter (2009), Pakistan's tribal zones (2004), Irak (2010, 2011), crossed the Amazon (2006), Afghanistan (2004, 2010)...

Lhuisset continues to travel around the globe to experience places where many don't dare go to. By doing so, he prepares the ground without anyone noticing at first for a reflection and questioning of the world we live in.
